Bio

I began my training at the Norwich Institute of Art and Design where I studied Papermaking and Sculpture and continued my studies at The London Institute's Camberwell College of Art, where I specialised in Metalwork and Silversmithing.

Throughout my career I have continued to produce personal work, consisting mainly of painted and mixed media figurative pieces. The female form features strongly in these works, arising from a passion for capturing the movement, shape and aesthetic qualities of the human body. Inspired by the elegance of movement and beauty of the human form, my work explores female sensuality rather than sexuality and visualises the powerful beauty and wonder of femininity.

I have always found mixed media an exciting way to work and, as a child growing up, was constantly surrounded by some form of artistic work, whether by my late mother's exquisite textile creations or my father's inventive yet functional constructions. I'm sure this exposure as a child has encouraged me to experiment and develop my own skills, incorporating as many varied influences as possible along the way.

Solo and Joint exhibitions, as well as sales, include Cambridge Contemporary Art, Heffers Gallery, Cambridge Corn Exchange, Cambridge Open Studios, Cambridge Craft Fair, Chilford Hall, Newmarket Library Galleries amongst other private sales.

I am more than happy to take on commissions so if there is a particular theme you are searching for please contact me.
